Cummings Properties honors 20-year clients

Camaraderie, laughter, and a surprise gift were on the agenda during Cummings Properties’ recent celebration of long-term clients. The event – which took place April 26 at the commercial real estate firm’s flagship building, TradeCenter 128 – was held in honor of the more than 80 businesses and organizations that have leased with Cummings for 20 years or more.

During the evening’s festivities, company founder and new author Bill Cummings called upon George Holland of Woburn and Brian Sisitzky of Winchester – who are the longest serving colleague and client, respectively – to address the gathering. Each has had a 42-year relationship with the 48-year-old company.

“Looking out at the crowd now, I see a number of Cummings employees whom I count as friends,” said Sisitzky, owner of Sisitzky Sales candy company. In 2016, the outdoor sitting area and garden in West Cummings Park was renamed Sisitzky Park in honor of the client’s 40th anniversary with Cummings Properties.

The program concluded with an announcement by Cummings Properties account managers Shannon DePierro and Kara Murphy that, each year going forward, clients with 20 years or more of tenancy will be invited to select a local charity to receive a $1,000 donation from Cummings Properties in their honor.

“The gesture is intended to recognize the impact that leasing clients have on the surrounding communities,” said Murphy, who noted that the majority of Cummings’ 10 million square feet of space exclusively benefits Cummings Foundation, which has awarded more than $200 million to date in Greater Boston. “We simply would not be able to engage in this level of philanthropy without our clients.”
