LexaGene Holdings Inc., a biotechnology company that develops instrumentation for pathogen detection, has significantly expanded its operations in Massachusetts. Originally based in Vancouver, Canada, LexaGene recently signed a lease for a 17,500-square-foot office, lab, and R&D space at 500 Cummings Center, Suite 4550, in Beverly. The new location includes a state-of-the-art, level-two biosafety laboratory, which will allow LexaGene to adhere to biocontainment precautions specified by the CDC while testing for pathogens. Jump On In – New England’s first and largest indoor inflatable playground franchise – will open a sparkling new 11,300-square-foot party and entertainment center at its new location, 233 West Cummings Park, Woburn in mid-April. Now under new ownership, this location replaces a former franchise on Wildwood Avenue. Cummings Properties' architectural team worked directly with the client to design the facility. Cummings' in-house construction arm will make the modifications to fit up the facility in time to meet Jump On In’s fast-track schedule. Architects For Learning, which provides customized instruction, comprehensive assessments, and consultation services for school-age students and their parents, has opened a new education center at Cummings Properties’ Dunham Ridge campus in Beverly. The 3,300-square-foot office is the company’s second location, in addition to its headquarters in Needham Heights. Founded by CEO Dr. Bonnie Singer, Architects For Learning caters its instruction to individual student needs. Dr. Singer and her long-time research partner, Dr. Anthony Bashir, have developed teaching methods aimed at improving students’ ability to listen, speak, read, write, take notes, study, stay organized, and manage homework.
