Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) has established a new location at 600 West Cummings Park in Woburn. The Woburn site is the seventh CARD office to open in Massachusetts. In December 2017, CARD opened a location at Cummings Center in Beverly. CARD’s new 4,700-square-foot center features a sensory gym, which helps children with special needs develop their sensory, communication, and motor skills while improving fitness. Unlike standard fitness gyms that use treadmills and weights, a sensory gym is specifically geared for child development. “Cummings’ in-house design and construction teams were able to create a child-friendly space to complement and enhance CARD’s programs,” said Steve Cusano, leasing officer at Cummings Properties, who worked on the transaction with brokerage firm Pacific Partners Commercial, Inc. “We are so pleased that CARD chose…

During the evening’s festivities, company founder and new author Bill Cummings called upon George Holland of Woburn and Brian Sisitzky of Winchester – who are the longest serving colleague and client, respectively – to address the gathering. Each has had a 42-year relationship with the 48-year-old company. “Looking out at the crowd now, I see a number of Cummings employees whom I count as friends,” said Sisitzky, owner of Sisitzky Sales…

Each organization will receive annual installments of between $20,000 and $50,000. The Sustaining Grants program builds on Cummings Foundation’s $100K for 100 program. First offered in 2012, $100K for 100 annually awards $10 million through multi-year grants of $100,000 each to 100 nonprofits that are based in and primarily serve Essex, Middlesex, and Suffolk counties. Grant recipients that received their final grant disbursements in 2017 were automatically considered for the new funding initiative in 2018. These Sustaining Grants will award an additional $10…

There was an excitement in the air at Book Ends in Winchester on Saturday, March 10. With more than 100 people in attendance, the independent bookstore was packed to capacity. People arrived early and stayed late for the chance to meet and speak with Bill Cummings about his newly released memoir, “Starting Small and Making It Big.” The venue was a fitting one for Cummings’ first event as an author. Winchester has been the hometown of Bill and his wife, Joyce, for more than 50 years. The local component of this kick off event brought forth residents from Winchester and neighboring towns, as well as from around the state, with one attendee reporting that she drove an hour from Lunenburg for the opportunity to meet Cummings. “It was Book Ends’…
