Thirty years ago, Tim Parziale joined the Cummings Properties team as an HVAC technician. Today, he’s the field division manager for the commercial real estate firm’s Beverly division, which includes the 2 million-square-foot Cummings Center business campus. When asked why he has spent three decades with the same company—a rarity today—Parziale said, “I have learned so much here, and still no two days are ever alike. There are always new challenges and new ways to improve how we work. Plus, my colleagues are simply second to none.” He learned multiple trades while on the job, and ultimately earned five licenses: HVAC technician, journeyman electrician, master electrician, master sheet metal worker, and unrestricted commercial builder. Center for Autism and Related Disorders leases a second location with Cummings Properties

Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) has established a new location at 600 West Cummings Park in Woburn. The Woburn site is the seventh CARD office to open in Massachusetts. In December 2017, CARD opened a location at Cummings Center in Beverly. CARD’s new 4,700-square-foot center features a sensory gym, which helps children with special needs develop their sensory, communication, and motor skills while improving fitness. The event – which took place April 26 at the commercial real estate firm’s flagship building, TradeCenter 128 – was held in honor of the more than 80 businesses and organizations that have leased with Cummings for 20 years or more. During the evening’s festivities, company founder and new author Bill Cummings called upon George Holland of Woburn and Brian Sisitzky of Winchester – who are the longest serving colleague and client, respectively – to address the gathering. Cummings Foundation “sustains” 33 local nonprofits with $10 million in grants

Dozens of local nonprofit organizations received news this week that likely made not just their day, but their decade. Woburn-based Cummings Foundation awarded a total of $10 million to 30 Greater Boston charities through its new Sustaining Grants program, which provides funding for up to 10 years. Each organization will receive annual installments of between $20,000 and $50,000. The Sustaining Grants program builds on Cummings Foundation’s $100K for 100 program. First offered in 2012, $100K for 100 annually awards $10 million through multi-year grants of $100,000 each to 100 nonprofits that are based in and primarily serve Essex, Middlesex, and Suffolk counties. Grant recipients that received their final grant disbursements in 2017 were automatically considered for the new funding initiative in 2018. These Sustaining Grants will award an additional $10…
